The Helsinki Distilling Company
The Helsinki Distilling Company brings the honourable tradition of distilling back to Helsinki as the first private distillery in over a century. The company also offers guided tours of the distillery, and the distillery’s products can be sampled at the new Tislaamo-Distillery Bar.
The Helsinki Distilling Company moved to the Teurastamo’s old soap factory
The Helsinki Distilling Company began operations at the Abattoir in August 2014. Now the distillery produces gin, whiskey, applejack and a modern long drink, called Helsinki Long Drink. All the products are hand-made from the finest Finnish ingredients – and a whole lot of love.
The Helsinki Distilling Company opened its own bar on the first floor of the distillery in December 2016. The bar offers a full range of HDCO:s own products, from well-known favourites to seasonal products, as well as a wide selection of whiskeys and gins from other manufacturers. In addition to this, customers can also look forward to sampling high-quality tequila and mezcal, for example. In addition to high-quality beverages, the Distillery Bar also serves food. The kitchen is open whenever the bar is open.
Those wanting a take a closer look at the distillery can do so on guided tours, which introduce visitors to the process of distillation and the distillery’s collection of old apothecary bottles, while also explaining why Finnish water and high-quality distillates go so well together. The distillery is also an active participant in many of the Abattoir’s events.
