Helsinki Coffee Roastery creates new Finnish coffee culture
The story of Helsinki Coffee Roastery began in 2011, but the staff’s experience in the coffee industry stretches far further back. The founder of the roastery, Benjamin Andberg, burned his first poor beans about 20 years ago in a frying pan, and has continued working on his roasting skills ever since. According to Benjamin, he comes from the “learning by burning” school. Over time, the frying pan was replaced with a roasting machine and in 2014 we were awarded best roaster of the year by Glorian Ruoka & Viini magazine.
The coffee industry is currently undergoing a big shift. At Helsinki Coffee Roastery we are building a new coffee culture with our thorough experience and expertise. We want to transfer our expertise to the customer in an easy way. We offer an ethical Finnish option with excellent taste. The coffee we use in all our products derives from single origin farms and we strive to always buy our beans directly from the farmer and skip all the middle hands. The quality of our coffee is very important to us and is something we pay a lot of attention to. We are proud of our coffee and you will notice that when you have it in your cup.
The roastery’s coffee can be enjoyed and bought at the Teurastamo from Kellohalli and at various events organised in the area, and the roastery also offers guided tours. During the summer, the roastery’s coffee is also served in Teurastamo’s yard.
The roastery’s main café is located in Puu-Vallila, at Päijänteentie 29.
